Selina Periampillai Talks about The Island Kitchen

Welcome to All Consumed, a podcast about food, drink and travel hosted by Neil Davey and Chris Osburn.

Riding a wave of rave reviews and phenomenal sales for her b0ok, The Island Kitchen, Selina Periampillai takes a moment to chat with Chris about her Mauritian heritage and how she turned her love for island cooking into a successful and dynamic career.

Published by Bloomsbury, The Island Kitchen is Selina’s debut book. It features beautiful photography (and a very attractive cover) alongside dozens of easy to make recipes for dishes from Mauritius and other Indian Ocean islands such as the Seychelles, Maldives and Madagascar.

A self-taught chef and food writer, Selina began her career hosting a Mauritian supper club from her home in Croydon which soon was followed by opportunities to host pop-ups, teach cookery classes, present at food festivals and cater private events through her company, Taste Mauritius. Her writing has appeared in BBC Good Food Magazine, BA High Life, and many more.
